2013 - friendships and blessons

Well, first things first, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR everyone! May the year 2014 bring everyone prosperity, joy, and wealth in many ways possible! God bless!

It has been pretty long since I've updated my blog. I haven't actually found the time to write, let alone the motivation. I've actually started a mini-blog on Dayre where I can just update it on my iPhone but even that has got minimum posts on it. Somehow, it seems that those around me have got a more of an inspiration to actually update people on their lives. Me, on the other hand? Not so much.

Well, my second year in university has started off with many complications and loads of memories. Within a few months, I've lost friends whom at one point I cared for dearly. Debasish and Ahmad are no longer in my life. I've said what I had to say as a friend, telling them what is wrong, in a straightforward manner, and yet still, they took it like I was being too "emotional". I give my all for my friends as I know my best friends can attest for.I tell you my honest opinions and will tell you when you are doing something that is truthfully wrong. That is what I call a friend. You'd want the best for your friend and not to see them dig a deeper grave for themselves. In all my relationships, I either give my all or nothing.

Hence, I am really quite sad to let these people go. Yeah, I've heard that I'm too "emotional" and that I over-react over the smallest things. I've actually heard that a lot. But guess whose mouth it always comes  out from? Yeap, it's always been said by those who I've left behind. Being emotional, makes me who I am and I am proud of who I am.

If I love you and care for you as a friend, I'd do anything for you to help you. If you'd call me in the middle of the night and said that you're stranded on the road with no money cause you got robbed, I'd be there. I'd be there without a thought, rushing to make sure you're safe.

Sometimes, it comes from the people who were supposedly a friend of mine.They end up going around fishing for hot juicy gossip from others, agree with them and then come back just to tell me what those people have said. What goes around, comes around. Karma bitches. I don't have to say much either as things happen for a reason. People find out who you truly are sooner or later. People have got so much to comment on when you're the one that speaks out for what you believe in.

Anyway, I've finally opened my eyes and found out so many things that were happening in the first year. Our class ended up being more distant than ever, probably cause by the fight between Debasish and I. Honestly speaking, I don't feel a significant change. I do feel a little sad that I have to break ties with some people but hey, people enter our lives and leave them for a reason. They come in to give you a lesson about life and leave when they're done teaching. That's God's way of letting us learn. I'll accept it humbly and live my life positively.

By the end of 2013, I faced another problem with friendship and friendship within business. I finally understand why our lecturers warned us about the consequences of businesses created with friends. We've made a mistake. Our business enterprise company is completely on its last strand of hope with the problems we're having. Some people cannot accept the fact that they are in the wrong. I've tried telling this particular group member about sharing and giving people space to do things. We've tried having group discussions and sharing how we feel about each other and the problems we might have but he/she does not want to express his/her feelings to the rest of us. The only way I can explain the situation is by identifying a person as a clam. Why a clam, you say? Well, because no matter how hot the boiling water is, if the clam is "dead" inside, it is never going to open. We are the boiling water, pressuring him/her to improve and do better, but no, his/her personality is the same as a dead clam.

Ah. So much frustration. Anyway, I'll look forward to the future. It is always bright ahead. Till next time people.

Hello Again, After Sooooo LONG!

Helloo everyone!

Sorry for the extremely no-posts silence! Things have been pretty hectic these few months. Can you believe it? I'm coming back in like 60 plus days! WTF. So freaking fast. But that also means, Datelines... datelines... datelines...  DEADLINES. whichever one it is. Although I kinda read somewhere that it was meant to be DATElines not DEADlines but I guess DEADlines suit its purpose more significantly.  (hmmm...)

Anyway, on with my life! I've gotten back some marks and one has been pretty disappointing. I've gotten past it now and have reflected a bit on it and my issue was that I was too complacent on those damn citations. sigh. -_-" I've learnt my mistakes. >.<

I've recently been hanging out with my classmates, my actual classmates, not just Chloe and Cherlyn but with Debasish, Likitha, Ahmad, Ishwar, Medelin, Asif and George. Here's one of us, although we were missing Medelin and George.

Awesome times are awesome. We've had a few potluck sessions and one clubbing experience with the gang. It was pretty epic. I was mama hen for the night. Keeping everyone in check. haha! T'was pretty fun. :D

Winter has been here for so long and everyday till recently has been FREEZING. I only realised how cold it was in Newcastle only when I arrived in Amsterdam. Super nice sunny weather there. Damn. The past week was really sunny though, here in  Newcastle.

I'll have to go now! its 12.05am here in Newcastle, but I promise to update more about the Amsterdam trip! Made me miss yall so much. :( All those fun times! :D

Cooking Bonanza

Hey loves!

Sorry for the late update again. Had two small tests this week and was rather busy trying recover from my jet lag last week... :D

Anyway, been trying to cook my food with more taste these few days and surprisingly its really good! (^.^)v 

Fusilli Carbonara with Buttered Broccolis. 

I'm gonna be trying to cook sweet and sour chicken today for myself although I was planning to invite yajunn and cherlyn. But I'm worried it doesnt taste good. HAHA. Try on myself first. heh! 

Got some beef too! so I'm gonna try cooking some thai style basil beef. Gonna do some grocery shopping today. \(^.^)/ hehe. Can't wait. Will update again on how it goes and looks and tastes. HEHE! So, housewife in the making lah! (O.O) HAHAHAHA. Oh well. Might as well try when there is no one to judge me except myself right?

The HK girls are still stuck together like glue. I'm back on talking terms with Yan but then again, it won't be the same. Kinda makes me sad cos I rather enjoyed cooking for them. Samantha and Sally have got new room mates. Sally's one cooks for her too. HAHA. What a curious turn of fate right. Wait till the responsibility and the chores hit them. How to split the bill? Who washes the dishes? Who buys the groceries? I tell you, I got taken advantage of. Lets see how they will handle it. Tsk. All I can say is that, I'm glad and grateful to be rid of that responsibility. Because, it kills you. (-.-)''

Anyway, I feel rather lonely and the one who goes out with me the most in Cherlyn. But I feel like I'm being too clingy sometimes. So, I'll go out shopping for groceries by myself today. (^.-)v I can do it, of course I can. But people would rather enjoy the company of a good friend... wouldn't they? Oh well. Independent, I shall be then.

Back in the UK

Hello everyone! :D

Sorry for not updating my blog! My new year's resolution is to make sure its updated once in awhile. Things are fine over here. I'm missing you all! I had so much fun back in Singapore. Miss the food, the friends and the loved ones. :'(

All the good times I had. Thank you everyone! I love you all! <3

Sigh, school's started and I'm already bombarded with all the exams coming up and the small test these teachers keep giving. Still in a holiday mood and i'm trying to recalibrate my brain to reality. :( boo. Then again, I hope I am soooo busy that time flies by without me knowing. :D 

I miss my mum and my dad. All their nagging and the fact they do not seem to believe that I keep my room clean. tsk. Sigh. I miss the jokes we always had and all the comments about other people's dressing. My mum said she cried when I left. sigh. who wouldn't! :( 

I miss my friends. All your lovely notes. My wall gets filled will all your cards! :D It makes my happy. Wish I had more time to spend with you all. Sorry for the short times we had this break! We should go to Bali or smth during the next hols! JetStar got sale now! for july!

Wish I could see and feel my dear benny too. :( Really miss him a lot. Miss his hugs and his warmth. :( I can Facetime him but its just not the same. He has been feeling rather down since I left. But, its better this time unlike the first one. So thats great.

Anyway, I have to start cooking for myself again. I brought chilli tuna over and it is the best thing ever! :D super good! I love it! Please send me summore okay! Its the bomb! I miss the curry puff! :O I miss the sushi! I miss the prata! I miss the stingray! I miss the chicken rice! Sigh! I miss all the food in singapore! I'll try cooking chicken rice here. Hopefully it'll be nice! :D

Long Time No Blog!

HARLOW EBERIBADI!

Hehe. Guys and girls, don't expect me to come back with an engrish accent please. The INTO Newcastle is packed with many Hong Kong, China and Taiwanese people! They are a majority here. HAHA. What a joke right? And I'm considered one of them by the British people. Sigh.

Anyway! Me is so sorry for not updating my blog! I've been really busy trying to manage the first few weeks cos I've learnt my mistake in TP. No more slacking. We are learning to reference books and stuff properly here and IT IS SO STRICT!!! (MY GOSH!)

We have an online system that checks your work for plagiarism. The system checks my submission with all the books,journals and assignments other people has done, in the world! Crazy shizz.

I've been studying hard so I am taking a break on my computer, eating my £3 Haagen Dazs. (^.^)v

So now, where do I start?

Hmmmmm.... There has been a lot of things going on. Maybe I should start with friends and the people here.

Well, Daphne has officially left our clique. HAHA. Thank God, as I think its for the better. Its a really long story and I have no idea where to start. I've found her a little weird and a bit full of herself since I met her. Daphne is the girl in the photo on the right. The girl in the centre is Yan, my room mate.

Daphne seems to be a bit clingy to my room mate and she kinda made jokes about how Yan is an awesome room mate and so kind cos she washed the dishes one day. Yan, by the way, is a genius. She's a mathematical genius and a musical genius (going to be but still wayyyyyyy better than anything I am). Hence, for Daphne, ( who needs help in maths cos she's studying pharmaceutical science)  Yan, is a genius and the perfect room mate.

Hmm.. Its pretty hard to explain Daphne's character. She kinda has 2 personalities I think? One is the nice girl when she is with her friends or rather, classmates. She controls her temper and smiles. But the other personality is one we have all now seen. Her true colours. She complains about every single thing that goes wrong in her day. She skypes her mum and dad everyday and complains to them. Her poor room mate, Samantha, has to bear all the shouting and screaming that she does to her parents. We were fine with it until one day she wasn't very happy with us.

What happened was that it was supposed to be a dinner with just me, yan, samantha, her and yajunn. Turns out 2 of my classmates came along. Andddd just because of that, she wasn't happy. She just couldn't get along with them. \(O.O)/

Whattttttt. She didn't talk to us for a night. I would think that she wouldn't have talked to us the next day but she won a mini competition in her class and her tutor praised her about it. (so she was happy and talking again.) \(o~o)/

Talk about weird, the night where the incident that made her angry took place, she told me and Samantha (her room mate) that before she came to Newcastle, she had a dream that she and her room mate would fight because of something and they wouldn't talk after that. HAH! wow..

SO, this is what happened that caused Daphne to be angry at us for some reason. (I don't think she should even get angry in the first place)

My room mate, Yan, was down with a flu and cough. She doesn't really drink water and she takes her meds with tea or any other drink besides water. She is also a sugar addict and loves to eat sweets and candies. Yan has a whole drawer full of them. (-.-) I have nothing to do with her candies. HAHA. My stash is pretty small and it's been with me for quite some time now. (O~O)

 Anyway, back to the story... Daphne and Samantha, after dinner, came over to my room to chit chat and chill. Daphne wanted to make Yan drink some water and find her a proper medicine. (Yan has a medicine stash which she doesn't really use.) Daphne being the to-be "pharmacist" wanted to help and we were all laughing and joking while making Yan drink water. It was all good, until Daphne went to Yan's table and started clearing out food that was on the table. Yan got a little annoyed but didn't really say anything until she went for the drawers. /(*.*)\ Yan kinda had a moody face on by the time and Daphne and Samantha were suddenly in a n awkward situation. (I was in the loo at that time and I came out to a pissed off room mate.) Yan nicely told them to "go back first lah ahh.." and so they went back to their room. I settled things with Yan and told her that people may not realise other people's limits and she understood and let it slip.

The next day, Samantha came and asked me how Yan was and if she was super angry about it. I cleared the air and it was fine between Samantha and Yan. The thing was that Yan was not angry at anyone already and when Yan tried talking to Daphne, Daphne was the one showing attitude towards Yan! *Dafugg* \(O.O)/

She didn't tell us what happened and just stayed silent the whole night. The next day, she still didn't talk to us and we wanted to go to Tynemouth (the seaside). Yan was evil and said we should leave her alone. I told Samantha to just ask but Daphne said briefly to her: "You all go lor." Before we left, Yan went to knock on her door but she didn't reply. (o.0) weirdo.

We found out later through one of her shouting/skyping sessions with her mum that she was angry at Yan and that we all gave her attitude and that we knocked on her door but she was studying so she didn't reply. *DAFUGG* A bit mad don't yea think?

Yan told us to ignore her and let her learn from her mistakes. Yan felt a little bad at first but now she doesn't really care. She feels that Daphne is being childish and her mum is allowing her to be like that. tsk. Yajunn told us to ignore her as well and that she should learn not to be so petty and self-centred.

I felt bad initially but now, it's becoming a joke everyday.

What made it ultra bad now is that Daphne has moved out of the shared rooms into her own single studio. Well, it's good for Samantha and bad for Daphne. She will totally not mix with anyone and its gonna be quite hard for her to have friends living in a single studio. What's more, she made her own nightmare, a reality. Tsk.

I was so kind as to try and find out from her mum what happened. Her mum saw my message on the day I sent it because Daphne was complaining to her mum that night when I sent it. We all wanted to know why and we gave her the benefit of the doubt that she may not find it easy to share her feelings. Well, sad to say, her mum is the reason she became this way. Whatsapp has a few ways of showing you if your message is received right? 2 ticks means that its received and read. Plus they also show you the time and date the user was on their whatsapp.

Her mum took 5 days, the whole weekday to actually reply me. During that 5 days, we didn't talk to her at all and it was slightly awkward for Samantha and I seeing her at the INTO building. She can totally just look right past us and not say hi. Awkward...

Here's what I said:

"Hi Aunty, Noreen here. Me and Daphne's room mate are a bit worried about Daphne. She seems to be angry at us but we are not sure why. We have tried to find her for lunch, she didn't say a word. Did she tell you what happened? Did we do something wrong? She doesn't really tell us if she's angry so we are not sure what happened. We are very worried for her."

After 5 days, here's what her mum said:

"Sorry for the late replies, i think there's nothing wrong now.Daphne has a really genuine personality. She doesn't like anyone to misinderstand her kind intentions and getting suspected. As friends, mutual understanding is required."

1) She isn't answering my question on what happened and what made Daphne angry.

2) No one misunderstood her daughter at all. Yan knew her intentions were good but her daughter should not have touched other people's things. She only knows Yan for 3 weeks please? If I touched her stuff, she would have been angry too.

3) Suspected her of doing what? No one was suspecting her. She didn't even tell us anything!

4) We had a mutual understanding between all of us. It was her daughter that seems to not have an understanding of friendships at all!

5) She was siding with her daughter and she made it seem like we were the bad ones here. WTF. please.


ANYWAY! Enough angst in my post. HERE is OUR NEW CLIQUE.

The jacket made me look fat in the photo! I know I look so fat in the photo but trust me, I have been going to the gym at least 3 times a week and for Body Tone lessons. Haha. My muscles have been aching so bad. We're kind of missing Yajunn in the photos. (O.O') But overall, its US six. We had a lot of fun and since all of us except Yan is not in business, we spend most of our time together. We even saw snow together! WHEEEE! SNOWW!

OMG!!! ITS SNOWING!

I can't wait for the snow to come even heavier! We have a really nice slope at the back of our hostel and we are planning to buy sledges to slide on the snow! WOOHOO! Can't wait!

I also can't wait to go back to Singapore! I wanna see my awesome friends and tell them all about the people here. No one can beat them in terms of friendship!They really know how to make me smile! hehe. I still have loads to share but just one person can take up all of my blog post. What about my other class mates I wanna talk about? phew. Tiring. haha. Anyway, Ruben's family has invited me to join them in their Bangkok trip in December too! I can't wait! Mummy has said yes and I'm so bloody excited! MASSAGE, HERE I COME BABEH!

I can't wait for my parcels to arrive too! Woots woots. (^.^)v I LUBBS YOU ALL! <3 <3 <3 Me has some stuff too but I can't send it through post. I'll send out my letter soon though! Haven't finished them yet! Anyway, how have you all been? What's new? Tell me about yours too lehhh! (^.^)

WTF just happened???

OMG. Almost 3 weeks since I've been here. Time has really flown by! I really miss Singapore and my friends and my dear Ruben and my family. Sigh. The one little creature I miss the most is Tinkie. I'm so sad. \(; . ;)/

How can you not miss that face????  It seems that he knows I am missing cause apparently my mum has told me that he keeps looking at the door and he seems to keep finding me. (Insert : bawling emoticon) oh man. Seriously? And my mum FaceTimed me a few days back and let me see Tinkie! When I called out his name he searched the room and meowed back in reply!!! (insert: x12 bawling emoticon) Sigh. Super heart wrenching. I miss my kitty. meow.

Going out of my hostel...

My week has been pretty busy and super full of school. I'm suddenly the "joker" in the class for some reason I don't really know and it's been kind of a huge change for me. I used to be the cool one, relaxing at one corner. HAHA. yeah. Cool my arse. HAH! Yeahh.. We have some pretty nice girls in our class (nice as in personality wise) and we've been going out for lunch and stuff. Nga Kwan and I are in the same class again so I am not alone. (THANK GOD) Daphne's room mate, Samantha, is also in my class! So I'm quite happy where I am. :D Thank you all for your wonderful prayers that definitely helped me.

Anyway, some update on what Daphne, Samantha, my roomie, Yan, and me did during the previous weekend...

 We went to the Robinson's Library to have a look around the school before this week started. It's HUGE! With loads of OLD OLD books. Super huge collection. Gosh. We came out and were walking to the Sports Centre when we came to the museum above! It's super cool! It's got an actual mummy in there and all the Egyptian artefacts and animal stuffing of most of the species and a whole lot more. Pretty cool shizz.

They are super sweet and funny girls to be with especially my room mate, Yan. Seriously thank God I have her as my roomie. We have a lot of fun cooking and shopping together. She's studying to be an architect! (o.o) Cool eh? Her textbooks are super small and light. And she complains that it's not fully worth her money she paid for them. HAHA. Funny donkey. (^.^)

Ahh... I have got some people who do get on my nerves but well, these kind of people are everywhere. I'm very blessed to have so many awesome people around. :D Anyway, I've gotten some curry chicken paste packets from the Chinese provision shop nearby so I''m gonna try cook that for dinner tomorrow! Yan cooked omellete fried rice today and it was pretty good! (^.^)

The damn stupid fire alarm rings every bloody single day and we haven't gotten by without one day having it ring in our ears. (*.*) crazy. No one goes running out of the building now even if there is a second stage, continuous alarm. It's so bad that the school has placed a fire drill without telling us when so that they can catch who ever did not come out of the building. They even placed a fine of 30 pounds so that people will come out. Tsk. Desperate. This is what you get for messing with Asians. No one will know if there is a real fire now. So stupid.

I am so sorry I was unable to update everyone on my school life! Its been rather chilly here with strong winds and cold freezing rain pouring on us... My umbrella broke. Yes, Broke. WHEN in Singapore, can your umbrella break during a downpour? The most, it flips up, and it's still perfectly fine once you've flipped it back. Well down here, IT BREAKS! Want an example? How's that???!!! It's a real mad weather here. AND I've fallen ill with flu. Sucks to be me at times. Sigh.

Monday was rather chillaxed, with some registration and stuff. I currently have friends from HK, M'sia, China and of course, Singapore. HEH. My roomie is a HK-er. Hiu Yan's her name, but I call her Yan. I'll prolly get a photo of them sometime soon! (^.^)v  Lydia is a M'sian and Elaine is from China! Lydia and Elaine is from my course, together with Nga Kwan/Yajunn/Chloe.

Yes, she has three names. Now, at least. HAHA! She's been really nice to me, lending me her sim card for the internet. She has unlimited free data for her plan so I'm using it for the meanwhile. She's only lent it to me cos her boyfriend, Thore is here with her; so she doesn't have to text him now. HEHE! He's a good guy. Thore is really sweet to Nga Kwan and he's super gentlemanly.  He makes me miss my benny so much. I would love to have benny's cuddles. Sigh. Can't wait for him to come over here. Then it'll be my turn! I'm so excited!  (^.^) It's been really tough not talking to Ruben. So much things have been going on. I'm still waiting for my damn sim card from Giffgaff to come in. So irritating. I MISS YOU SO MUCH MY LOVE!!! <3 <3 <3

Wanna know what happened today? ITS THE MOST EPIC THING EVAAA!  \(O.O)/

Your dear friend here (ME), and her room mate (Yan), decided to get some pizza from Mark and Spencer here. (I forgot to tell you the mark and spencer here is HUGE I tell ya!) We came back and decided to use the microwave to cook it. SO, we throw it in for about 15mins and we went to do our own thing while waiting. NEXT thing we knew, when Yan went to check on it, our kitchen, WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE. Smoke so thick, we couldn't see the appliances in the kitchen. SO fucked up I tell you. Serious. Did I mention that the fire alarm sensors here are extremely sensitive?? Faggots. You can imagine what happened. I was so stupid to ask Yan to open the main door so some air could go in, that it not only triggered our room alarm but the WHOLE BUILDING's alarm. FCUK. It EVEN CAUSED AN EVACUATION BITCHES!

WTF right?? I CAUSED THE BUILDING TO EVACUATE and ALL CAUSE of a STUPID FREAKING PIZZA! You can imagine how much Nga Kwan was laughing at me. Fuck. I was freaking out like mad. Me and Yan ran out after we heard the fire alarm change from a broken interval to a full force continuous alarm. Fuck. It was the most scariest moment ever. Fuck. And it was just day 2 of my life in campus. And this happened to me. WTF!

I can imagine y'all laughing like hyenas. Shitty bombastic. Nga Kwan even made a joke out of it! HAHA. Evil. I tell you. EVIL.  sigh.  Yan and I kena warning letter and we have to see the in-charge tomorrow. Crap. Please pray for me that we don't get fined. Anyway, we are going Ikea tomorrow to get bedsheets and other crap. HAHA.

I come in to school in the most epic way ever. By testing the fire alarm system. The people who came to switch it off were prolly thinking "Crazy asian kids can't even microwave a pizza properly!" sigh. Anyway, I had a good laugh over dinner about my incident!
